Just
what archivists use in archival repositories for the preservation
of a diverse and challenging array of materials, our boxes are customized
as kits for use at home. At home we are inclined to keep thematic
collections (ie: wedding keepsakes, school memories, etc) which
include a variety of different forms of materials all in
one place. Photos, fabrics, paper, film, audio-cassettes and paintings
can all be kept together because all together, they tell a story.
Our kits include selections of enclosures designed to separate different
forms of materials from one another and provide the best environment
for those materials. You sure won=t find these in the stores! Everything
from "photo overflow" to wedding dresses to newspapers
can be successfully preserved in preservation boxes. If you have
an item that doesn’t quite fit in one of our boxes, let us know.
This is the tip of the iceberg!

B-6 Artwork
Box Kit
|
|
|
Your childrens’
works of art – priceless, right? Until you need to find a place
to keep them! There are better options than in the crawlspace
or in a ultimately damaging plastic container! Try taking photos
of those pieces you can live without and perhaps put them in a
photo journal and document the child’s narration of what it all
means. Some people like to video-tape their children talking about
their pieces, but keep in mind that video tape does not have a
long lifespan. Sometimes we love to keep the originals: a very
few of the very best … and here’s where to keep them!
- for childrens’
artwork that simply doesn’t fit into the School Memory Box ...
or anywhere else for that matter!
- constructed
from grey acid-free, lignin-free archival fibreboard with metal
edges
- measures
24 " x 20 " x 3".
- includes
20 sheets of acid-free buffered interleaving paper to separate
individual pieces of art work.
- includes
instruction manual outlining archival basics, how to edit your
child’s portfolio (and what to do with the art you don’t keep),
how to use the art box, where to store it, and how to handle
your treasures
